Support DNS Split Zone Description

Split Zone Description

Use Cases of Intelligent DNS

Generally, DNS is only responsible for resolving the IP record for the user, but not for determining the user source. This will cause all users to be resolved to a fixed IP address. In contrast, intelligent DNS determines the user's origin and then returns the IP after intelligent processing to the user. For example, it can determine the user's internet connection and then intelligently return the IP of the corresponding server.

Region and ISP split zone description

For example, if the Default split zone is set to be resolved to 8.8.8.8 and the Asia split zone to 9.9.9.9 for www.dnspod.com, then the IP address 9.9.9.9 will be returned for users in the Asia split zone, and 8.8.8.8 for users outside the Asia split zone.
At this time, if DNS resolution for the Asia split zone is suspended, the resolution for Mainland China won't be affected, and 8.8.8.8 will be returned for all users. Therefore, no matter whether you add region- or ISP-specific split zones, you must first add the Default split zone.

Search engine split zone description

For the "Search Engine" split zone, you can configure spiders of Baidu, Google, and other engines to capture different IP addresses. For example, if the Default split zone is set to be resolved to 8.8.8.8, the Baidu split zone to 9.9.9.9, and the Sogou split zone to 10.10.10.10 for www.dnspod.cn, then the IP address 10.10.10.10 will be returned for users who visit the website by searching with Sogou, 9.9.9.9 for users who visit the website by searching with Baidu, and 8.8.8.8 for users who directly visit the website.

node:
The Search Engine split zone is an aggregated split zone for the collection of search engines such as Baidu and Google.
